Nick Meier
Originally from South Florida, I left for college in Brooklyn, NY and spent 14 years living and working as an artist and designer there. In that time I became something of a design “jack of all trades” working as a photographer and graphic designer before receiving a degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute.
I spent a few years getting to know the core of New York’s built environment by working on public contracts for the School Construction Authority, New York City Housing Authority, and the Department for Design and Construction at Nelligan-White Architects. I was then presented with the opportunity to work as a furniture designer for Uhuru Design.
Having little experience as an industrial designer, I quickly gained knowledge of fabrication, manufacturing processes, supply chains and logistics central to the role. I also learned to appreciate design at the scale of furniture and grew into the role of Design Director.
I am currently based in Los Angeles, where I have been working with the EV manufacturer Canoo to help define spacial brand standards and experiences. I’ve also been working as a web designer focused on helping design firms showcase their work.
Please contact me with any inquiries, I’d love to hear about your next project.
