Uhuru Showroom

Located in a former warehouse on the Red Hook waterfront, the Uhuru Showroom is where the office, design studio, and prototype shop sit together under one roof. The showroom is a collaborative space where designers and friends are encouraged to interact with our furniture and team. I was tasked with designing the showroom including color schemes, vignettes to showcase pieces and a coffee shop pop-up at the entrance.

Additionally I was asked to connect the showroom on the ground floor with the office directly upstairs. I designed and coordinated fabrication of a steel and wood staircase, and oversaw all elements of it’s installation. The main flight is made entirely from bent 3/16” steel, while the bottom flight and landing is made of antique pine joists, salvaged while cutting the floor opening during installation.
